About the position

The Senior Media Planner/Buyer at Hager Sharp is responsible for leading paid media deliverables and activities, supporting strategic thinking and creativity in media planning. This role involves overseeing the planning and execution of media campaigns, coordinating with creative teams, and mentoring junior staff. The position requires expertise in both digital and traditional media, with a focus on optimizing client outcomes and contributing to business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and delivery of paid media campaigns for client projects.
  • Coordinate with creative directors and/or designers on the development of creative assets needed to execute paid media plans.
  • Oversee the reporting of paid media campaigns, including gathering metrics and developing client-ready reports.
  • Manage the invoicing process for all advertising, including submission to Finance and maintaining monthly trackers.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning skills, anticipating future trends and needs.
  • Communicate developments in advertising to staff across the agency.
  • Deliver excellent client service, attending to internal and external client requests promptly.
  • Compose well thought-out and well-written client documents.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of key issues relating to clients.
  • Meet with client teams to pitch project concepts and support budget leads in developing media-related costs.
  • Participate in brainstorms to generate strategic and creative ideas for proposals.
  • Support general new business as requested.
  • Lead the strategy and implementation of advertising on behalf of Hager Sharp.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in media planning/buying, with a focus on digital media and experience in a communications agency setting.
  • Superior data analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically to advance client projects.
  • Strong team management, project management, budgeting, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to develop strong, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
