About the position

The Senior Merchandise Manager for Furniture, Patio, & Home Improvement at Beyond is responsible for developing and executing strategic merchandise plans to maximize product sales while managing profit and loss for assigned merchandise. This role involves analyzing market data, evaluating vendor capabilities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective merchandising strategies are implemented. The position requires strong leadership skills to influence and coach team members, as well as a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and execution of strategic merchandise plans to maximize product sales.
  • Manage profit and loss for each merchandise assignment.
  • Gather industry trade data and translate it into market intelligence reporting.
  • Analyze overall product demand and forecast future merchandise needs.
  • Evaluate vendor capabilities and develop business relationships with suppliers.
  • Recommend changes in procurement processes to improve service and reduce costs.
  • Create executable inventory plans and identify opportunities for new business.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address quality concerns.
  • Negotiate product costs and award contracts to suppliers.
  • Collaborate with management on profit and loss issues and support merchandising strategies.

Requirements

  • Five years of end-to-end merchandising experience in procurement, demand forecasting, and vendor relations, preferably within eCommerce.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • SQL skills
  • Graduate degree in Merchandising, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field.
