About the position

The position involves leading the planning and development of budgetary estimates and quotations for equipment and tooling investments in support of New Model and Business Plan engineering projects at Honda. The role focuses on cost planning activities, maintaining historical cost data, and developing tools for accurate cost estimation, while also supporting benchmarking analysis for internal cost improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cost planning activities such as scope clarification and developing timelines.
• Provide investment cost estimates and quotations for New Model and Business Plan projects.
• Create and maintain historical cost tables for generating and validating cost estimates.
• Develop and refine cost planning and control tools for accuracy and efficiency.
• Track plan vs. actual costs and report results analysis during and at project close.
• Support benchmarking analysis to identify and create action plans for internal cost improvements.
• Work with Procurement to establish and improve outside vendor lead time and cost targets.

Requirements

• Business or Accounting/Finance, Engineering Technology degree, or equivalent experience.
• 2-6 years' experience in cost planning, budgeting, or project management.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other data analysis/presentation tools.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including lookup and referencing, logic and text formulas, and pivot tables.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with project management software.
