About the position

The Senior Microprocessor Field Application Engineer will play a crucial role in the Customer Application Support team, focusing on designs in the Infrastructure and Industrial application spaces. This position is responsible for driving demand creation and design-in activities at customer sites, providing technical support to the sales team, and ensuring the resolution of technical issues while identifying future roadmap needs for customers. The role emphasizes delivering persuasive value messages to enhance market share.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver premium technical support in content and time to assigned customers
  • Drive design wins in target accounts and technology
  • Lead proof of concept, solution design, and demonstrations to secure design-in
  • Synthesize customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps
  • Establish the value proposition of system solutions relative to competition
  • Build relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners, and customers
  • Analyze customer's technical objectives using relevant data gathering techniques
  • Educate sales and distribution partners on new technologies and product features
  • Develop system level knowledge of target application spaces

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of development engineering or applications support of SoC based embedded systems
  • Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
  • Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, PCie, SDIO, Modern DDR, SPI, MIPI, USB
  • Hands-on knowledge of ethernet datapath acceleration or graphics/video subsystems and related software drivers
  • Knowledge in embedded Linux: kernel and user-space and uboot environments
  • Ability to read, understand and review schematics and provide design recommendations
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve customer issues using JTAG based tools
  • Experience with custom board bring-up debug activities
