About the position
The Senior Mining DevOps Engineer role involves working with large datasets in an AWS cloud environment, focusing on the development and deployment of cloud infrastructure. The position requires monitoring web services and databases, utilizing CI/CD pipelines, and developing software applications using various programming languages and database technologies. The engineer will collaborate with systems analysts and engineers to design systems, modify existing software, and ensure optimal performance of systems.
Responsibilities
- Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems.
- Obtains information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Monitors functions of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications.
- Modifies existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
- Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects.
- Proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.
- Develops software system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three years of experience as a Senior Mining DevOps Engineer, or a Master's degree and one year of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Sonar.
- Experience in performing test automation in Cloud using AWS, Docker, and Shell scripting.
- Ability to collaborate with external vendors for software development and deployment.
- Experience supporting the full software application development lifecycle (SDLC) using Git/Stash, Artifactory, JIRA, AWS, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
