About the position

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Senior Accessibility Engineer - Mobile to join our team in Westlake, TX. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to analyze accessibility defects and advocate for accessible solutions across our mobile platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of accessibility, allowing all users to have equitable access to our services. You will work closely with agile teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve accessibility issues, ensuring that our software design and engineering practices align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Your insights will be crucial in promoting a culture of accessibility within the organization, influencing better software design and engineering practices. As a Senior Accessibility Engineer, you will conduct thorough evaluations and audits of our mobile applications, utilizing tools such as Axe and other semi-automated testing tools. You will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement accessibility best practices and ensure that our products are user-friendly for individuals with disabilities. Your role will require effective communication skills to articulate the importance of accessibility to various stakeholders, fostering an environment where accessibility is prioritized in all phases of product development. Responsibilities

  • Analyze accessibility defects in mobile applications and promote accessible solutions.
  • Conduct experience evaluations and audits for accessibility compliance.
  • Utilize tools such as Axe and other semi-automated testing tools to identify accessibility issues.
  • Collaborate with agile teams to implement accessibility best practices.
  • Communicate the importance of accessibility to stakeholders and team members.
  • Influence software design and engineering practices to enhance accessibility.
  • Work with remote and international team members to ensure consistent accessibility standards.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in Accessibility Testing, Web or Mobile Software Development, and Quality Engineering.
  • International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience conducting accessibility evaluations or audits.
  • Solid understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Working knowledge of Axe semi-automated tools or equivalents.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, and Cypress.
  • Experience working in agile teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional accessibility testing tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of mobile development frameworks and technologies.
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles.
