About The Position

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to help provide compliance support and assistance in all aspects of the mortgage business, including internal operations, production, sales, and marketing/advertising. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with consumer protection rules and regulations related to marketing, advertising, loan disclosures, and loan-level compliance. A key focus will be to promote the availability of mortgage credit to Spanish-speaking consumers with Limited English Proficiency (LEP), working closely with Marketing and Operations to support internal operations. In this role, you will provide independent oversight and guidance regarding SWBC Mortgage products, services, and processes through a compliance framework to ensure they are executed in accordance with regulatory requirements. You will partner with the business and key stakeholders to continuously drive a strong culture of compliance, demonstrating integrity and professional judgment in protecting the interests of SWBC and our borrowers. Essential duties include supporting internal customers to ensure compliance with state or federal lending laws and company policy by answering compliance policy and procedure questions. You will provide administrative support, including reviewing and preparing reports and correspondence, and assist with the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures by researching and monitoring changes in regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will create, revise, and maintain federal and state lending disclosures, maintain state and federal lending reference manuals, matrices, and history files, and assist in the creation of loan disclosure compliance documents and procedures. You will also review and monitor marketing materials, including printed collateral, online, social media, radio, TV, and video broadcasts, ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and state laws. This includes but is not limited to ECOA and Fair Lending, MAPS (Reg N), RESPA (Reg X), TILA (Reg Z), and guidance from the FTC and FFIEC for social media, advertising, and digital marketing. Furthermore, you will assist with the marketing review for preparation of audits and examinations by state or federal regulators or agencies, collaborate with marketing and business systems to develop a Compliance Management System specific to LEP, and report on compliance developments related to LEP issues at the state and federal level. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing scripts, text templates, automated email communication of loan process milestones, and other loan-level customer communication to ensure the Spanish translation accurately reflects the English content. You will develop compliance audits specific to marketing reviews for LEP consumers and support response complaints from LEP consumers, including review, research, and communication with the consumers, providing follow-up communication to employees and management. Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed.
