About the position

The Senior Multi-Domain Operations Analyst at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is responsible for analyzing complex problems across various warfare domains, including Space, Air, Surface, and Ground. The role involves performing detailed analysis on sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems to support military operations. The analyst will work collaboratively with a team of experts, engage in independent research, and present findings to both technical specialists and decision-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on interacting sensor, tracker, communication, and weapon systems for multi-domain simulations.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends, assess risk, and document uncertainties in simulation results.
  • Collaborate with experts in specific warfare domains and integrate key effects into a multi-domain simulation environment.
  • Guide junior analysts and collaborate with senior engineers on project direction.
  • Engage in independent research projects that encourage creative solutions and initiative.
  • Present work through briefings to technical specialists and decision-makers.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Demonstrated excellence in modeling, simulation, and analysis in warfare domains.
  • Ability to learn new and challenging topics quickly.
  • Effective communication of complex ideas in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance and ultimately Top Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in a scientific or technical field.
  • Knowledge and experience integrating across Air, Space, Surface, or Ground warfare domains, especially Space.
  • Experience leading teams and managing workflow.
  • Experience with M&S tools like AFSIM, STK, Suppressor, or Brawler.
  • Experience with version control software and tools (Git/GitLab).
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
