About the position

The Senior .Net Developer will be responsible for building a new CSHCS Web application for the Indiana State Department of Health. This role involves analyzing existing applications, participating in the full software development life cycle (SDLC), and collaborating with project managers, developers, and business analysts. The position is a long-term opportunity with a potential contract-to-hire option, and candidates must be eligible for full-time hire without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing applications at the Indiana State Department of Health to build a new Web application.
  • Participate in the complete software development life cycle (SDLC) for project assignments.
  • Work with technical and functional staff on detailed business requirements and understanding business processes.
  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Utilize object-oriented techniques and best practices for design, development, unit testing, and deployment.
  • Develop code along with unit testing strategy and plans.
  • Use Microsoft .NET Framework and a supported MVC framework, C# programming language for application development.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to maintain the project plan and meet project milestones.
  • Prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet application needs.
  • Work independently with less guidance and collaborate with ISDH external partners as needed.

Requirements

  • 10 years of working experience in software development.
  • 5 years of working experience with C# and MVC.
  • 5 years of experience in analyzing and addressing security-related issues for applications built in multiple languages.
  • 5 years of working experience with Oracle.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields with IT experience.

  • Healthcare EDI experience.
  • Expert understanding of SDLC.
  • Current working experience with Web Services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve complex programming issues.
  • Experience in the Health Industry.
