About the position

The Senior .Net Developer (Information Systems Specialist 7) position at the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) is designed for experts in applications and software development. This role is crucial for supporting the HECC's mission through expert-level application development activities, including the integration and maintenance of various information technology solutions. The position is part of the HECC IT Organization and involves collaboration with partners to enhance and support critical systems related to education and workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform expert-level application development activities to support HECC's mission.
  • Analyze, plan, develop, integrate, implement, and coordinate IT operations and maintenance.
  • Provide IT application integration support and application development for HECC and partners.
  • Support new development and ongoing maintenance of existing applications critical to HECC's operations.
  • Provide applications support to critical areas such as statewide scholarship and grant systems.

Requirements

  • Six years of information systems experience in web-based and/or .Net application development, or administering and developing applications using cloud platforms.
  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or completion of a two-year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field, and four years of relevant experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and two years of relevant experience.
  • A Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced skills in application and software development/administration including cloud platforms, with strong Azure experience preferred.
  • Expertise in web-based application development and .NET programming languages.
  • Extensive knowledge of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience designing databases and database systems using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, AngularJS, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
