About the position

The Senior Software Engineer - Broker/Dealer position involves collaborating with senior technical leads to transform business requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed application code. The role encompasses the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of information systems. The engineer will utilize various hardware and software technologies to create new code, modify existing modules, and implement packages, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions to business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed technical documentation based on formal business and functional requirements.
  • Develop and modify programs or customize applications to meet business needs, including unit testing to ensure quality code is delivered.
  • Create ad-hoc queries to support business requests.
  • Perform analysis of applications, feeds, APIs, reports, etc., to troubleshoot issues or make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed applications.

Requirements

  • Understanding of various project development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall and overall SDLC process.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software development framework and related development environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher, including familiarity with CTE and new features.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing procedures and functions, with the ability to performance tune queries.
  • Experience in understanding complex data models and designing quality database solutions.
  • Experience in data analysis and research, reviewing, interpreting, and implementing according to business requirements.
  • Experience in Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) between systems, using various SQL tools like SSIS.
  • Experience in SSIS package deployment methodology and troubleshooting SSIS packages.
  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented concepts and design patterns, with hands-on experience in OO development methodology in n-tiered Client/Server and web-based environments.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C# (.NET Core and Entity Framework).

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid understanding of REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of AWS technologies, CI/CD pipeline, Bitbucket, SNS/SQS Queue.
  • Familiarity with React, Redux, and other JavaScript frameworks like Angular, ASP.NET MVC, and jQuery.
  • Domain knowledge in broker/dealer and securities processing, including familiarity with industry standard feeds such as DTCC/DAZL/DST and clearing firms like Pershing/Albridge.
