About the position

The Senior .NET Web API Developer will join a newly formed project team to work on a critical application for a large enterprise client. This role involves rewriting an application using modern technology and frameworks, focusing on the development of web APIs with a .NET backend and React JS front end. The developer will take ownership of API development tasks, ensuring adherence to coding standards and architectural practices while collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership and responsibility of the web API development tasks.
  • Adhere to client coding standards, architectural patterns and practices.
  • Design & develop web API architecture using Choreo framework.
  • Analyze Choreo and understand how to best implement the gateway to meet the application needs.
  • Evaluate and analyze the legacy system to fully understand features, functionality, data structures and business rules.
  • Collaborate with front end developer to design required endpoints and data contracts.
  • Design & develop unit tests within the Choreo web API framework to achieve required unit test coverage.
  • Work closely with product owner to fully understand, prioritize and implement required features and functionality.
  • Communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, providing timely and succinct status updates.

Requirements

  • Proven 10+ years of experience as a .NET/C# developer with specialization in web API development using REST or GraphQL or microservice architecture.
  • 2+ years experience using API gateways to accelerate web API development.
  • Experience with Choreo web API is preferred.
  • Experience with developing and implementing unit tests during the development lifecycle is required.
  • Experience with RDBMS is required. Experience with Oracle database is preferred.
  • Understand and proven experience with modern source control systems.
  • Experience working within branches and collaborating with CI/CD team for deployment considerations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a financial services setting.
  • Full stack or web API development experience.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of React JS and micro front-end frameworks.
