About the position

The Senior Network Architect/Engineer will provide leadership and guidance in network architecture within a large enterprise environment. This hands-on role involves leading a small team of Network Architects while managing complex network systems primarily based on Juniper technologies. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and team management skills to ensure optimal network performance and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Network Architects with day-to-day and long-term tasks.
  • Set priorities and goals for the team and individuals, providing constructive feedback.
  • Provide Level 3 & Level 4 technical support for network-based operating systems such as Cisco IOS, Juniper Junos, F5 load balancer, and Infoblox NIOS.
  • Administer Routing and Switching, DNS and DHCP, and network load balancing.
  • Develop, define, and create best practices processes for Network infrastructure, Data Circuit technologies, and WAN design.
  • Participate in a regular on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.
  • Design and administer security practices to meet various regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for all Network, Load balancer, DNS, DHCP, and Wireless, Circuit, and WAN designs.
  • Coordinate and participate in service/support needs with vendors and technical support.
  • Test and deploy security patches to maintain PCI, SOX, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot the compute infrastructure to ensure optimal service levels for uptime, stability, performance, and quality.
  • Perform capacity planning to predict usage trends for upcoming hardware/software needs.
  • Develop automation scripts and custom scripts for support, monitoring, and metrics gathering.
  • Assist with circuit orders and monthly billing reviews.
  • Perform on-call support every 5th week.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in technology or related degree or equivalent technical certification and experience.
  • At least 8 years of Network engineering/architecture and (level 3 & 4) technical support experience.
  • Experience leading other network engineers (assigning tasks, mentoring, etc.).
  • Experience as a Network Architect in an enterprise environment (global experience preferred).
  • Strong technical experience with routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, WAN design, SDWAN, DNS, DHCP, and Load Balancing.
  • Deep knowledge of BGP.
  • Experience performing capacity planning to predict usage trends for upcoming hardware/software needs.
  • Juniper certification preferred.
  • U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only.
