Peraton is seeking a Senior Network Cloud Engineer (SNCE) to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in establishing the Joint Operational Edge (JOE) and other cloud capabilities. The SNCE will lead the engineering team responsible for the JOE environment, focusing on networking technologies. This role involves overseeing the design, architecture, and daily operations of the environment, ensuring that the team executes and implements the overall design effectively. The SNCE will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will be tasked with resolving complex technical issues that arise within the network infrastructure. The responsibilities of the SNCE include familiarity with the deployment and administration of IT networking components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, particularly in virtualized environments. The engineer should have a strong understanding of standard routing protocols and switching architecture to implement on-premise Cloud Service Provider (CSP) service infrastructure equipment. Additionally, the SNCE should be experienced with BGP implementations on Customer Edge (CE) routers in high availability pairs and instantiating new circuit connectivity with a DoD Service Provider. The role requires the ability to obtain packet captures and decode them to resolve network-based issues such as latency, jitter, and packet loss. Automation experience using tools like RedHat Ansible and/or HashiCorp Terraform is essential, along with extensive coding experience in languages such as Perl, Python, and Powershell. The SNCE will also be responsible for deploying virtualized compute resources within a CSP Virtual Data Center Security Stack and ensuring proper configuration management of network configuration items. Moreover, the SNCE will provide traffic engineering analysis and studies as directed by the program office, which may include tasks related to SD-WAN technologies. The role also involves deploying cluster storage with on-premise Cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes container solutions within a CSP service hosting enclave. The SNCE will develop and manage detailed transition plans for projects and maintain Concept of Operations documentation, while actively participating in organizational meetings and events to integrate into the company structure.
