Saab Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a dedicated team focused on designing, building, and supporting systems that ensure the safety of air travelers globally, 24/7/365. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing diverse network solutions tailored to meet the needs of our customers. This position requires both domestic and international travel, which may account for up to 30% of your time. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will engage in a variety of tasks that include planning and designing networks that adhere to both Saab's specifications and those of our clients. Effective communication and collaboration with other technical disciplines, such as product development teams, program deployment teams, and customer support, will be essential to your success. Your responsibilities will also encompass the continuous improvement of our products, documentation, ease of use, reliability, and serviceability. You will provide network device support to our customers, which includes troubleshooting, device reconfiguration, and replacement, as well as technical refreshes during upgrades, both remotely and on-site. A high-level understanding of the products and systems supported by the communication network is crucial. Familiarity with Software/Operating System Configuration, particularly in a Linux environment, as well as Network Design, Configuration, and Troubleshooting, will be key components of your role. Additionally, you will help develop tools and scripts to facilitate various configuration and monitoring activities, and you will be expected to have a working knowledge of network tools such as Wireshark and other diagnostic techniques. Participation in processor and switch selection, as well as planning and organizing work, will also be part of your responsibilities. Accurate documentation of all aspects of the networks you create and support is essential.
