As a Senior Network Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in designing, operating, and implementing large-scale networks that support connectivity to and from Amazon, as well as between Amazon's data centers and services. Your work will be integral to ensuring that our networks are fail-proof, scalable, and capable of growing with the demands of our customers. You will join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, which is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring that our customers have continuous access to the innovative services they rely on. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your responsibilities will include partnering with the broader Infrastructure organization to establish configuration standards and tools, as well as collaborating with Systems and Software Engineers to facilitate the rapid rollout of new designs and products. You will also be tasked with deploying and sustaining networking software tools that enhance our operational capabilities. The AWS Global Connectivity and Network Availability (GCNA) Organization is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering (BERE) team. This team is responsible for building and designing a complex backbone network that efficiently manages Internet traffic between data centers and customers. Your core responsibilities will include performing high-quality network and systems operations, creating network designs and deployment procedures, and producing technical documentation that supports our operational goals. You will be expected to anticipate customer and technology needs, creating High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documents, and working with internal stakeholders to influence technology roadmaps. Additionally, you will automate deployment processes to enhance quality and speed, and work closely with internal customers to bring designs from concept to production. This role requires a commitment to excellence, as you will be part of a 24x7 on-call rotation, managing customer interactions during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. You will also need to travel to data center and network sites as necessary.
