About the position

The Senior Network Development Engineer at Blue Origin plays a crucial role in developing the digital infrastructure necessary for advancing the company's mission of making space accessible. This position focuses on automating network design, deployment, and operational management processes, particularly with Juniper Networks devices. The engineer will work within a collaborative team environment, emphasizing safety and innovation in space technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and tools for network management processes.
  • Work closely with network and security engineers to translate security requirements into automated workflows.
  • Develop and maintain network device templates and configurations.
  • Implement and manage network automation solutions using tools such as Ansible and Python.
  • Integrate automation tools with other systems for monitoring and configuration control.
  • Conduct code reviews, testing, and validation of automation scripts and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation scripts and network operations.
  • Conduct training sessions and documentation to upskill staff in network automation tools.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent and continuous experience as a mid-level network engineer.
  • 3+ years of coding and scripting experience in complex networking environments.
  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience with tooling, orchestration, and automation in a Linux environment (Python, Ansible).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with networking cloud and on-premises based infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with the Juniper networking platform (JNCIS-DevOps a plus).
  • Familiarity with the Palo Alto security platform.
  • Experience in aerospace, corporate, industrial, and manufacturing environments.
