About the position

The Senior Network Engineer / Architect role in Austin, Texas, is a long-term contract position focused on upgrading the traffic signal communication network. The role involves acting as the primary liaison between clients regarding the interface between the signal network and the client's enterprise, as well as developing and updating cybersecurity policies. The position is critical in redesigning the signal communication network to support OSPF, enhancing reliability and resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between clients regarding the interface between the signal network and the client's enterprise.
• Program and maintain the Division's two main core switches.
• Implement a deployment plan for the 900+ Etherwan intersection switches.
• Set up and maintain a Radius server.
• Set up an SNMP management system.
• Evaluate and revise security policies to meet industry security standards.
• Work with clients to implement Active Directory Authentication and Federation for external users.

Requirements

• CCNA certification is required.
• Experience with network programming and maintenance.
• Knowledge of OSPF and network reliability and resiliency.

Nice-to-haves

• CCNP certification preferred.
• CCIE certification preferred.
