About the position

The position involves managing the computer networks of Citizens Bank, ensuring the stability and security of business operations. The role requires collaboration with a team of engineers to plan, implement, and oversee network infrastructure, while also providing technical support and solutions to enhance network performance and security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and deployment of LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wireless solutions.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.
  • Architect and implement changes to resolve issues and modernize technology processes.
  • Ensure network designs adhere to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Execute creative solutions for technical troubleshooting of moderate complexity.
  • Advise on mitigation actions for upstream/downstream data and systems implications.
  • Ensure network security measures are in place and up to date, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Create and maintain network architecture and design documentation.
  • Monitor and manage networks; identify potential entry points or weaknesses; detect intrusions.
  • Manage secure connectivity solutions to protect sensitive financial data.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of network security devices and produce security recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams on infrastructure and network projects.
  • Provide Tier II technical network support and assist with escalating tickets.
  • Audit technical network support tickets and document patterns and trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of working experience in network engineering, systems administration, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies from Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Arista, and VMWare.
  • Extensive routing and switching experience including TCP/IP and BGP.
  • Experience with network monitoring.
  • Experience managing engineers or technical personnel and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with engineering, planning, and developing network solutions.
  • Experience with anti-virus, anti-spy, and other cybersecurity assets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of VMWare ESX and Linux technologies.
  • CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent certifications.
  • Familiarity with network automation and orchestration tools.
  • Working experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience implementing large-scale infrastructure solutions.
  • Microsoft and Cisco coursework and/or certifications.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring and management tools.
