About the position

The Senior Network Engineer (Datacenter) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network solutions within a datacenter environment. This role requires expertise in networking, routing, private cloud, security, and WAN technologies, serving as a subject matter expert to ensure high-performance and reliable services. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective networking solutions while maintaining security and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions in a multivendor solution stack.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand business requirements.
  • Architect and support varied environments, ensuring seamless integration of networking assets.
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of network security measures.
  • Monitor network performance, proactively identify issues, and provide rapid resolution.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for network support and incident response.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or STEM related field.
  • Minimum 6 years network experience in a datacenter context.
  • Strong understanding of high throughput datacenter, private cloud, and HPC environments.
  • Proficiency with Meraki cloud-managed networking solutions.
  • Excellent soft skills for communication with all parties.
  • Solid understanding of firewalling principles and network security best practices.
  • Familiarity with network automation and orchestration tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications (Network+, CCNA, VCTA-NV, etc.).
  • Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) concepts and microsegmentation.
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
