The Senior Network Engineer for the Global Wide Area Network (GWAN) Team at Marriott is tasked with creating and enhancing secure network services and solutions that provide the best possible experience for Marriott Associates, contractors, and customers. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies such as SDWAN, Cloud Networking, and AI/ML enablement, all while adhering to a SASE-based framework. In this position, the Senior Network Engineer will engage in various responsibilities, including network design, engineering, implementation, and operational optimization for the Corporate Network GWAN product. This includes ensuring compliance with applicable standards related to architecture, security, privacy, and governance. The role also encompasses network service and circuit capacity management, project planning and delivery, and collaboration with other key teams such as Network Architects, Test and Certification, Information Security, and Finance. The engineer will also be responsible for L3 escalation support for operational issues and outages, as well as developing and executing new initiatives aimed at simplifying, standardizing, optimizing, and automating network designs and operations. The position requires a strong background in networking, particularly in implementing WAN, LAN, and datacenter networks that support mission-critical applications. The Senior Network Engineer will also need to have experience with public cloud networking and the ability to leverage automation and AI/ML for network management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Marriott's network infrastructure is robust, efficient, and capable of supporting the company's growth and technological advancements.
