The Senior Network Engineer, Global Wide Area Network (GWAN) Team at Marriott International is tasked with the critical responsibility of creating and enhancing secure network services and solutions. In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will leverage their extensive experience to implement engineering standards, document engineering designs, and participate in project cutovers. The position requires a deep understanding of WAN, LAN, and datacenter networks, particularly in relation to mission-critical, customer-facing applications and services. The engineer will also be responsible for designing and delivering networking services in public clouds such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as ensuring WAN connectivity to these clouds through various service offerings. The role demands proficiency in writing Infrastructure as Code for cloud network components and managing network services effectively. The Senior Network Engineer will also be involved in network design, engineering, implementation, and operational optimization for the Corporate Network GWAN product, ensuring compliance with applicable standards including architecture, security, and privacy. This position will require collaboration with various teams, including Network Architects and Information Security, to develop and execute initiatives aimed at simplifying, standardizing, and optimizing network designs and operations. The role is essential for reducing implementation cycle times, minimizing service downtime, and enhancing overall network performance.
