The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in the GLOBALink system, which is an advanced air-to-ground communications system that supports commercial aviation and government air traffic authorities globally. This system consists of a vast network of radio ground stations, satellite ground-earth station interfaces, and complex message processing and system management servers, all interconnected through a sophisticated communication infrastructure. As technology in networking and communications continues to evolve, the GLOBALink system is subject to ongoing changes and improvements. In this position, you will be responsible for leading network engineering projects and collaborating with Corporate Security Teams to plan and implement a comprehensive network security strategy. Your responsibilities will include analyzing business requirements to generate technical specifications, conducting network threat and vulnerability assessments, and implementing solutions for risk mitigation and information assurance. You will also assist in maintaining networks within development and security lab environments, develop technical network solutions for various projects, and ensure thorough documentation of network topology, data flows, and addressing plans. Additionally, you will analyze network data flows, access control lists, and firewall rules, and evaluate network performance against established parameters such as latency, availability, and capacity. This role will require you to work closely with cross-discipline engineering teams to develop solutions and mentor junior engineering staff members, ensuring a collaborative and innovative work environment.
