As a Senior Network Engineer at Claire's, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise solutions that focus on network technologies including LAN, WAN, WiFi, and Firewall systems, as well as datacenter technologies. This hybrid position is based on-site in Hoffman Estates, IL, and requires a proactive approach to managing and enhancing our network infrastructure. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), leading end-to-end network solutions by planning, designing, deploying, testing, documenting, troubleshooting, and auditing network systems. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering presentations about emerging technologies to senior leadership, ensuring that the organization stays at the forefront of network innovation. In this role, you will manage network-related budgets and participate in engineering discussions, collaborating with both internal and external teams. You will serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will also include the planning, implementation, and maintenance of various communications platforms and technologies. You will work closely with other engineers and architects to develop technical documents and implement new technologies as part of large-scale lifecycle programs and key enterprise initiatives. You will be responsible for creating and delivering best practices across the network domain, following ITSM/ITIL procedures regarding changes and incidents. Your role will involve ownership, coordination, and collaboration for any issues that arise, as well as managing vendor relationships, including reviewing and negotiating contracts to ensure deliverables are met. You will also be tasked with developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations, while staying engaged with the latest infrastructure technologies and methodologies. Additionally, you will oversee lifecycle management, maintenance contracts, licensing, total cost of ownership, and inventory control of all network assets globally.
