About the position

The position involves assisting in the management and operation of infrastructure services at DXC Technology. The role focuses on supporting the team in implementing infrastructure requests and projects, maintaining system performance, and collaborating with various teams to meet infrastructure requirements. The candidate will be responsible for developing network engineering documentation and participating in the implementation of network devices, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and operation of infrastructure services, providing support to the team.
• Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure requests and projects.
• Work with client and other support teams to understand requirements and develop network engineering documentation including configurations, instructions for deployment, and supporting network diagrams.
• Help maintain the performance and availability of infrastructure systems while troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with other teams to understand their infrastructure requirements and support design and/or implementation.
• Participate in the implementation of Network devices in the infrastructure environment, specifically, but not limited to, routers and switches.
• Assist in the development of infrastructure documentation, including drawings, inventories, and reports.
• Contribute to the optimization of resource allocation for infrastructure tasks and projects.
• Provide effective communication to support and collaborate with team members.
• Work in close partnership with the Network team to ensure coverage of network deliverables and handling escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role
• Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
• Proven experience in Network design, preferably in a datacentre environment
• Proven experience in hands-on installation of network devices and related cabling
• Proficiencies in general IT knowledge related to networking
• A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, excellent organization, and communication skills
• Proficient in using Visio for creating or editing network drawings.

Nice-to-haves

• An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is preferred
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, are a plus
• Experience with Cisco Nexus 9000, C9200, and 3850 models is strongly preferred.
