About the position

Wanted: An experienced Senior Network Engineer with demonstrated experience in designing and implementing computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. Design network and computer security measures. Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. Preference is given to candidates with extensive Cisco network security and engineering experience. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will work with the latest, cutting-edge technology alongside a team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled professionals. A week in the life of a Senior Network Engineer includes collecting requirements, designing networks, configuring and deploying hardware, securing the networks, and maintaining network security and configurations as requirements evolve. You will troubleshoot network and application issues using firewall logs, switch packet capture tools, and Wireshark. Additionally, you will manage daily operations of a multi-node, multi-network, multi-vendor environment, configure Cisco Routers/L3 switches for EIGRP using route redistribution, filtering, and securing the network routes using encryption and authentication for multiple tenants. You will also upgrade Cisco Catalyst switches and routers with IOS images, maintain the Enterprise network by building, configuring, and troubleshooting serial and ethernet interfaces aligned with client specifications, and monitor inter-network connectivity between the client's national nodes and field sites. Furthermore, you will coordinate network engineering activities including installations, implementations, patches, hot fixes, and upgrades to software/hardware, while maintaining network security and configurations beyond industry standards to meet custom mission requirements.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of recent and relevant experience.
  • Required certification: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  • Preferred education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology management or a related field.
  • Domain expertise: Networking, Security.
  • Technical skills: Cisco FirePower Next Generation Security Appliances, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Nexus 9300 and 9500 series data center switches, Cisco 4000 series Integrated Services Router (ISR) branch routers, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Catalyst 3800 and 9300 series branch/access switches, and F5 BigIP 10000 series Load Balancers.
  • Other preferred certifications: CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel clearance preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of TSA's mission priorities, systems, and applications preferred but not required.
