About the position

The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting SAS' internal and customer hosting network environments. This position involves designing and building new network architectures both on-premise and in public clouds, automating deployment and support of network components, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires expertise in various network technologies and a commitment to maintaining high standards in network operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build new network architectures on premise and in public clouds.
  • Automate deployment and support of network components.
  • Work with all network technology including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, load balancers, Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • Mentor and train engineers on the network delivery and operations teams.
  • Document network environments for network engineers, other IT staff and business consumers.

Requirements

  • US Citizen Required
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering/architecture.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or related fields.
  • Expert level knowledge of several network technologies: routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, wireless, SSL and IPSEC VPN.
  • Experience with networking in hybrid and public cloud environments, including cloud-native equivalents for routers, firewalls and load-balancers.
  • Experience with automation using Terraform, Ansible and/or Python to deploy and manage on-premises and cloud networks.
  • Experience with github or gitlab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on call rotation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Arista based BGP EVPN spine/leaf architectures.
  • Experience with Palo Alto NGFW.
  • Experience with Netbox.
  • Experience deploying and supporting DNS/DHCP services in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow catalog item and workflow development.
