About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the JSP ETM-NG program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and is not eligible for telecommuting; the employee must report full-time onsite. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating IT infrastructure and systems to ensure compliance with company and customer quality standards. A typical day will involve designing, planning, and building communications networks, configuring routers, switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems, and utilizing VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. In this role, the engineer will coordinate hardware and software improvements for LAN/WAN systems, monitor the network using industry-leading technologies, and provide innovative methods and technical solutions through the engineering design process. The engineer will also analyze customer requirements, perform maintenance and upgrades of networks, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining system backup and recovery capabilities. Additionally, the role includes coordinating the acquisition of hardware and software, creating plans for data communication networks, and evaluating new communications technologies to enhance network capabilities. The Senior Network Engineer will also provide guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel, ensuring the integrity and connectivity of the network. To be successful in this position, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, along with 5+ years of experience in Network Administration. An IAT Level II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M and one of the following networking certifications: Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), or Aruba is required. Hands-on experience with Aruba networking systems is essential, and the ability to work a swing shift schedule is necessary.
