About the position

CACI has an opportunity for a Network Engineer to support the Hopper Global Service Center in Suitland, MD with a wide range of network skills. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience with the latest Cisco Unified Computing (UCS) Platforms and Nexus-based Data-center Switches, along with a strong background in computer networking. Experience with virtualization, server administration, and data storage is also essential. In this role, you will evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, administer, and perform problem isolation of the current network management equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will administer network equipment including routers, switches, servers, transmission media, and related hardware of the organization's network architecture and infrastructure for both local area and wide area networking, including bandwidth management. You will monitor network performance to determine if adjustments are required and manage Cisco network devices. Your responsibilities will also include performing network installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts, maintaining the organization's network architecture, topology, and protocols plans, and performing routine network configuration management functions. You will provide assistance to clients and customers to assess their requirements, provide information or assistance, and identify and perform problem resolutions. Additionally, you will develop network backup and recovery solutions and procedures, and assist with the development of these solutions as needed. Occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required to perform node installations or upgrades, along with on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • BS Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field) and 10 years of direct experience or 12 years of same experience
  • CCNA or CCNP Certification
  • CompTIA Security + CE
  • The ability to effectively communicate orally and written with customers
  • The ability to resolve highly complex network interoperability problems
