About the position

As a Senior Network Engineer at Western Union, you will play a crucial role in designing, installing, and maintaining our enterprise network to meet the functional objectives of the business. This position requires a deep understanding of network architecture and the ability to assess network application needs. You will identify opportunities to update and enhance existing systems, optimizing our communication systems and advanced networking technologies. Your expertise will be vital in keeping our network secure by maintaining firewalls and other security technologies, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and securely. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams to integrate technical solutions that align with business goals. Your ability to communicate effectively and work well with others will be essential as you navigate the complexities of our interconnected organization. You will be expected to leverage your extensive experience in a Cisco environment, particularly in routing, switching, and firewalls, to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to communication protocols and packet transmission. Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and maintain the enterprise network to meet the functional objectives of the business.
  • Assess network application needs and identify opportunities to update and enhance existing systems with new capabilities.
  • Optimize communication systems and advanced networking technologies.
  • Maintain firewalls and other security technologies to keep the network secure.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in designing, installing, and maintaining complex corporate networks in a Cisco environment.
  • Strong background in routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills related to communication protocols and packet transmission.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field and/or CCNP certification.
  • Working experience with Cisco ACI, Aruba wireless, Checkpoint firewalls, Python/Ansible automation, and F5 LTM/GTM is a big plus.
