About the position

As a Senior Server Administrator / Architect at Information Technology Strategies, INC., you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure for our client, the U.S. Navy. This position requires a high level of expertise in ensuring reliable and secure connectivity across various systems. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices, addressing network connectivity issues, and maintaining the operating system software of network infrastructure devices, including IOS and firmware. Your role will also involve managing VLANs, firewalls, ports, and protocols, while implementing security policies and controls (STIGs) to protect the network from potential threats and ensure compliance with industry standards. In this position, you will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure that the network infrastructure is robust and meets the operational needs of the U.S. Navy. You will be expected to stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in network administration and cybersecurity. Your ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA, and adapt to an alternative work schedule will be essential for the success of this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, a commitment to security, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices.
  • Handle network connectivity issues and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software such as IOS and firmware.
  • Manage VLANs, firewalls, ports, and protocols.
  • Implement security policies and controls (STIGs) to protect the network from threats and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for a U.S. Government IT-I / IT-II / SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance.
  • Must have one of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE, CASP+ CE, CISA, CCNP Security, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP.
  • Must have 5+ years of hands-on experience with Network Administration/Engineering.
  • Technical skills in network administration, installing, configuring and troubleshooting network devices, network connectivity, and network infrastructure device operating system software (IOS, firmware).
  • Experience with VLANs, firewalls, ports, and protocols, including security policies and controls (STIGs).
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Must be willing and able to work on-site in San Diego, CA.
  • Must be willing and able to work an alternative work schedule which applies 9-hour days between 6:00am and 6:00pm with alternate Fridays off.
