About the position

The Senior Network Engineer at Fulgent Genetics is responsible for expert-level network design, planning, assessment, and implementation. This role requires extensive knowledge in routing and switching, as well as experience with DWDM, SDN/Cisco ACI, and data center technologies. The engineer will provide escalation support, create technical standards, and ensure optimal network performance in a 24/7 production environment, including support for AWS. Participation in after-hours on-call support is also expected.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, assess, and implement network solutions.
• Provide escalation support and recommendations for network performance.
• Create technical standards, procedures, and documentation.
• Support the 24x7 production environment of the Enterprise network/VoIP.
• Provide leadership and support for the AWS environment.
• Participate in weekly rotational after-hours on-call support.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with Cisco switching and routing.
• 5+ years of enterprise IT support experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Cisco Catalyst series.
• Experience with Aruba wireless network infrastructures.
• 5+ years of experience with Cisco Nexus series.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS.
• High level of knowledge with SDN and Cisco ACI.
• Experience with InfoBlox DHCP/DNS appliances.
• Active CCNP certification.
• Valid driver's license for travel to other locations.

Nice-to-haves

• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
• Extensive experience with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, DWDM Conferencing, QoS, TCP/IP, PPP, PPTP, IPSec, SNMP, STP, VTP, HSRP, RADIUS, 802.11a/b/g, 802.1x, and TACACS+ protocols.
