About the position

The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures to support business operations within the IT team in Austin, Texas. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of network systems, making it essential for the ideal candidate to possess extensive networking experience and a deep understanding of enterprise-level network architectures and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex network infrastructures to support business operations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot network systems to ensure stability and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance network performance and scalability.
• Utilize network automation and monitoring tools to optimize network operations.
• Manage network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, particularly in enterprise network environments.
• Proven experience in designing and managing complex network infrastructures, including routing, switching, and VPNs.
• Experience with network automation and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
• Hands-on experience with network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and encryption technologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar network security certification.
• AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty or similar cloud certifications.
• Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Functions Virtualization).
