About the position

As a Senior Network Engineer at ABL Space Systems, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our network infrastructure, which is essential for supporting our mission to provide global access to space. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of network projects, from simple tasks such as adding switches in congested areas to more complex undertakings like architecting the WAN network for new launch facilities abroad. You will be part of a dynamic team that thrives on innovation and problem-solving, working in a fast-paced environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our space launch operations. In this position, you will implement, configure, and maintain network components for both corporate and launch sites, ensuring that the systems are secure, scalable, and efficient. You will work independently with vendors to resolve complex network issues and translate vulnerabilities identified by our InfoSec team into robust network solutions. Your role will also involve conducting technical research on network upgrades and components to assess their feasibility, cost, and compatibility with existing systems. As a technical expert in network topology, you will provide support for service desk and emergency escalations, ensuring that our network remains operational and effective. Additionally, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting AWS, Azure, and VMWare VPCs and virtual networks, as well as enterprise wireless networks and controllers. Participation in the change advisory board as a network technical expert will be part of your duties, along with developing and maintaining a network monitoring platform to ensure maximum network health and stability. This position requires a proactive approach to network management and a passion for building secure and efficient systems that support our ambitious goals in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, configures, and maintains network components for corporate and launch sites, ensuring scalability.
  • Works independently with vendors to resolve complex network issues.
  • Translates vulnerabilities identified by the InfoSec team into secure, scalable network solutions.
  • Conducts technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current network.
  • Serves as a technical expert in network topology for service desk and emergency escalations.
  • Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots AWS, Azure, and VMWare VPCs and virtual networks.
  • Configures, maintains, and troubleshoots enterprise wireless networks and controllers.
  • Participates in the change advisory board as a network technical expert.
  • Develops and maintains a network monitoring platform to ensure maximum network health and stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking, or related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in networking operations, design, and architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing and maintaining Juniper, Aruba, and Palo Alto Networks equipment.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AWS networks.
  • Exceptional ability to drive network projects to completion.
