About the position
The Senior Network Engineer at Marathon TS is responsible for supporting and maintaining the IT infrastructure with a focus on information security and networking. This role requires a strong background in cyber security and extensive experience in enterprise networking, including the management of networking devices and security controls. The engineer will work as part of the IT team to implement security improvements and manage firewalls and networks.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain the IT infrastructure with a focus on information security and networking.
- Research, design, and implement security improvements and controls.
- Manage firewall and network configurations, including Palo Alto firewalls.
- Install, deploy, and manage network switches and cabling.
- Build and manage site-to-site IPsec tunnels and routing protocols.
- Monitor network performance and manage logs using monitoring tools.
- Create installation and configuration documents, including visual network diagrams.
Requirements
- United States citizenship.
- 5-7 years of experience in enterprise networking support.
- Strong skills in hardware, operating systems, and networking in office and data center environments.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and related management tools.
- Knowledge of OSI model and TCP/IP protocol stack.
- Experience with network monitoring and log management software.
- Ability to automate tasks via scripting and use source revision control tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with IEEE 802.1X port-based network access control.
- Familiarity with VMware, Linux, MacOS, Windows AD, and Azure AD.
- Knowledge of security standards and federal compliance regulations.
- Relevant professional industry certifications in networking and IT security.
