About the position

The Senior Network Engineer role at EPAM Systems involves working within the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering organization to manage and optimize network infrastructure for both cloud and on-premise environments. This position is critical in enabling online services teams to build, deploy, and manage infrastructure that supports millions of users globally. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in network protocols, security, and automation, along with project leadership skills to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage and configure the Palo Alto platform, including troubleshooting and security policy management.
• Ensure efficient network operations using advanced dynamic network protocols such as BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex global network topologies connecting branch offices to data centers and cloud service providers.
• Work with cloud networking solutions including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Enhance network automation and deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or custom scripts.
• Implement network security best practices, including firewall configuration and VPN setup.
• Handle incidents, outages, and disaster recovery processes effectively.
• Lead multiple network projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
• Identify and resolve network performance bottlenecks to improve throughput and reduce latency.

Requirements

• Extensive expertise in managing and configuring the Palo Alto platform.
• Proficient in advanced dynamic network protocols such as BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN.
• In-depth understanding of global network infrastructures and complex network topologies.
• Experience with cloud networking solutions including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Advanced knowledge of automation pipelines and tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of network security best practices and configurations.
• Experience dealing with incidents and disaster recovery processes.
