About the position

The Sr Network Engineer at Taro will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the network infrastructure within the US Network Group. This position involves collaborating with various business units and IT functions to implement effective network solutions, ensuring connectivity and access control, and maintaining high network uptime and stability. The role requires flexibility in work hours to coordinate with teams across the US and India, and it includes working with external vendors for managed services.

Responsibilities

• Assess, recommend, and deploy appropriate solutions for network connectivity and access control.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues.
• Coordinate with external vendors for managed services to ensure maximum uptime and stability.
• Work with global teams on network and security initiatives.
• Manage and maintain router/switch configurations.
• Implement and troubleshoot firewall technologies including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, and CheckPoint.
• Configure and troubleshoot site-to-site VPNs.
• Utilize network monitoring and management tools for performance tracking.
• Document network configurations and changes using tools like Visio and Excel.

Requirements

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or Network/Security related studies.
• 10+ years of networking experience with a focus on office/manufacturing sites.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WLAN/SDWAN technologies.
• Understanding of Layer 2/3 network theories and protocols.
• Experience with routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Proficiency in VoIP technologies, particularly Cisco Unity Call Manager.
• Knowledge of network security protocols including NAC and Radius.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• CCNA/CCNP/CompTIA Net+ certification (preferred but not necessary).
