About the position

The Senior Network Engineer at Quantum Health is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures to ensure reliable and secure connectivity across the organization. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of network engineers, overseeing large-scale projects, and collaborating with cross-functional departments to align network strategies with business objectives. The Senior Network Engineer will also ensure network performance and security by monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and staying updated with emerging technologies, while also managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and optimize network designs and architectures.
  • Oversee the deployment and integration of new network solutions.
  • Monitor network performance to detect potential problems early.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls and VPNs.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency and optimize network components.
  • Lead project teams in network-related initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
  • Create and update comprehensive network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation for production issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years implementing and managing switching, routing, wireless and firewall devices in a multi-site environment.
  • 4+ years installing and maintaining shared storage networks (iSCSI).
  • 6+ years managing network monitoring and alerting.
  • 6+ years WAN implementation, configuration and administration experience.
  • Ability to plan, design, implement and support computing and storage solutions.
  • Experience with troubleshooting difficult and complex network problems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • A thorough understanding of IP networking and networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, etc.).
  • Arista spine/leaf installation, configuration and administration experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • VMware experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of Cloud Networking principles namely AWS.
