About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Network Engineer to lead and participate in the implementation of network security policies across routers and firewalls. In this role, you will manage production networks, including the Internet Protocol backbone, data centers, and edge pops across the globe, ensuring the continuous availability of all data network services. You will be responsible for identifying gaps, risks, and issues within the network and navigating the organizational structure to resolve them effectively. Additionally, you will perform quarterly proactive network testing to ensure the proper functioning and reliability of the network, investigate and remediate network capacity-related issues, and apply your knowledge of security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions. As part of your responsibilities, you will provide resolution information and collaborate with other teams to complete impact analysis. You will also deliver comprehensive maintenance plans for change management review and approval. Mentoring and training the network operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems will be a key aspect of your role. Furthermore, you will partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of experience with configuration of routing and switching latest platforms and solutions such as Cisco Nexus and/or Arista product line
  • 4+ years of experience designing LAN/WAN/Datacenter solutions for large enterprises
  • 4+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP) in a large enterprise environment

Nice-to-haves

  • BA/BS degree with a focus in computers or electronics
  • In-depth networking experience
  • CCNA, CCNP/DP or CCIE Certification
  • Strong understanding of QoS configurations to support enterprise standards
  • Strong experience in configuring Cisco and Arista Routers/Switches
  • Strong understanding of the following layer 2 switching protocols: Spanning Tree, Trunking, Etherchannel
  • Strong understanding of the following: HSRP, CBWFQ, DSCP, NAT/SNAT, TCP/IP, Multicast, Ethernet, EVPN, MLAG, CVP
  • Strong understanding of DNS/domain services
  • Python/Ansible/GITHUB experience
  • Experience and familiarity with Change control processes - Service Now
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated skill with creating and/or updating technical design documentation used by engineering teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio Professional
  • Experience working in an agile environment utilizing Atlassian Jira products
  • Strong understanding of the following routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP
  • Proficiency in Python or Ansible scripting, with a strong emphasis on modern and efficient coding practices
  • Solid background in software programming and network automation, with the ability to navigate complex programming environments
  • Expertise in creating complex data models, deploying visual analytics, and utilizing Power Platform tools to interpret and present data insights effectively
  • Proficient in SQL and capable of handling complex database interactions
  • Expertise in various API technologies such as REST, SOAP, Graph, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsystems, cloud-based technologies, and back-end development. Front-end knowledge is a plus
