Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH
Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services

About the position

KBR is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the execution of the Connectivity enterprise through the development of a comprehensive operational concept and ensure robust inter-connectivity across platforms. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in communications and cyber engineering to support the Mobility Air Force (MAF) fleet, develop comparative systems tables, and provide expertise in cyber security and anti-tamper solutions. The role involves leading the creation of a detailed 2030 Operational View (OV-1) high-level concept map of the Connectivity enterprise, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the communications architecture. In this position, the Senior Network Engineer will provide inter-connectivity solutions by defining key technical requirements, such as data rates, latency, and message formats across systems. The engineer will also develop a comparative table for Communication/Connectivity Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and capabilities for the entire Mobility Air Force fleet, focusing on platforms like KC-46 and KC-135. This comparative table will be utilized to help define Recap systems that will guide contractors in Systems Requirement Document (SRD) development. Additionally, the engineer will support the generation of Program Protection Plans (PPPs) and Information Security Plans (ISPs) with a solid foundation in cyber engineering, design and propose Anti-Tamper (AT) solutions, and manage the approval process through coordination with the AT Executive Agent. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including program managers, engineers, and contractors, is essential to ensure that requirements and connectivity solutions are effectively communicated and executed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of MAF platforms and associated communications/connectivity systems, along with excellent communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
