About the position

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for overseeing network administration, design, and troubleshooting within a large enterprise environment. This role requires substantial expertise in managing network operations, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and mentoring junior team members. The engineer will also be tasked with conducting root cause analyses and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to SLAs and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Mentor team members and handle escalated technical issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, manage tickets/requests, and ensure process compliance.
  • Responsible for installations, configurations, migrations, and maintaining test environments.
  • Provide suggestions for new technologies and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and monitor SLA requirements, testing, and auditing processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in network administration in large enterprise environments.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CCIE R&S, CISSP, ITIL v3/v4).
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining LAN/WAN architecture, data center technologies, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in routers (Cisco, Avaya/Extreme, Juniper).
  • Experience with switches, firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), and WLAN technologies (Cisco, Aruba).
  • Knowledge of tools like Infoblox for IPAM, Riverbed for WAN optimization, and Bluecoat for packet shaping.
  • Strong experience with load balancers (F5 Big IP LTM/GTM), Cisco Nexus, Juniper SRX series, and Fortigate.
  • Capable of troubleshooting routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
