About the position

The Senior Network Engineer at Presidio will play a crucial role in supporting clients throughout the Tri-State region by leading and managing complex network and security projects. This position involves planning, designing, and implementing advanced network solutions while ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various teams. The engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality network engineering services and managing the implementation process from design to customer acceptance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project-based engineering, design, staging, installation, validation, testing, and troubleshooting of data/security networks.
  • Lead complex, large scale Network and Security projects.
  • Create low-level detailed designs that align with the business strategy, the customer's budget, and operational support capabilities.
  • Perform Network and Security discoveries, assessments, and provide thought leadership around enhancements and modernization.
  • Present documentation and engagement deliverables to customers.
  • Collaborate as part of a multi-functional team with Sales, Pre-Sales, Project Management, and other delivery/engineering resources.
  • Trouble resolution of complex issues and assist team members in solving problems with their deployments.
  • Work with junior members of the engineering team to successfully implement secure network solutions.
  • Execute network maintenance MOP both onsite and remotely with minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • Expert with complex multi-protocol routing and switching solutions.
  • Experience with various security parameters and hardening access to devices.
  • Proficient in Core Routing and Switching platforms with a focus on design, configuration, and troubleshooting using Cisco Best Practices.
  • Knowledge of network design and applications, including designing IP addressing.
  • Familiarity with OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, redistribution of protocols, and loop prevention.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack, TCP/IP headers and packets, the OSI model, and commonly used TCP/UDP ports and associated services.
  • Experience with Cloud Networking in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) in a Networking context.
  • Experience deploying at least one SDWAN Solution with Viptela, Silverpeak, or Palo Prisma SDWAN.
  • Experience in implementing one or more security solutions such as Palo Alto Networks Product Portfolio, Cisco Security Product Portfolio, etc.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • Must have 8+ years of related project implementation experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Fortinet Product Portfolio (Fortigate FWs, FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer).
  • Knowledge of Arista Networking solutions, including CloudVision.
  • Experience with Aruba Product Suite, including Aruba CX and Aruba OS software.
  • Familiarity with VSX and VSF technologies and high availability configurations.
  • Automation/Scripting skills in Python, EMM, and TCL.
  • Active Cisco certification (CCNP, CCIE Preferred).
  • Active Palo Alto certification (PCNSA, PCCSE, PCNSE Preferred).
