About the position

As a Senior Network Engineer at our global manufacturing company located in Hawthorne, New York, you will play a crucial role in the refresh of our client's global network. You will be responsible for a variety of network engineering duties, focusing on routing and switching, and will have the opportunity to work with advanced networking technologies. In this role, you will be deeply involved in the technical aspects of network engineering, including the installation and configuration of firewalls, and the implementation of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Responsibilities

  • Focus on the refresh of the client's global network.
  • Engage in project-based work primarily in hands-on engineering tasks.
  • Install and configure firewalls as part of network security measures.
  • Implement and manage routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
  • Troubleshoot and debug network issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Mentor and assist junior staff in their professional development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of strong routing and switching experience.
  • Proficiency with OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
  • Expertise in installing firewalls.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge in Cisco hardware is preferred, but open to knowledge in other hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience.
  • Strong leadership capability to mentor junior staff.
