About the position

The Senior Network Engineer at Alvarez & Marsal will play a crucial role in the design, engineering, and implementation of the company's global network infrastructure. This position focuses on ensuring the stability, security, and automation of the network across various locations, including regional campuses and data centers. The engineer will be responsible for operational support, project leadership, and proactive network monitoring to optimize performance and prevent issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to international and domestic networks.
  • Lead and complete projects of varying sizes.
  • Analyze application and bandwidth requirements and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor network health conditions and take proactive actions to avoid issues.
  • Deploy, scale, and automate the network across multiple global offices and data centers.
  • Document standard operating procedures, diagrams, and training materials.
  • Review and implement changes on the network following change management processes (ITIL).
  • Serve as a key resource for infrastructure and application problem determination and resolution.
  • Utilize internal monitoring tools to optimize network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting network platforms and technologies including Layer2/3 switches and firewalls.
  • Experience with routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Familiarity with authentication protocols like AAA, RADIUS, TACACS, and ISE.
  • Experience with load balancers, specifically F5 LTM/APM/ASM.
  • Knowledge of network management tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA) and Solarwinds.
  • Experience engineering and supporting large scale enterprise wireless infrastructure is a plus.
  • Experience with supporting co-located networks and Cloud Service Providers, particularly Azure.
  • Design/implementation experience with SDWAN technologies.
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or other network engineer certifications preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud colocation connectivity and data center interconnects.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Collaboration and Meraki wireless solutions.
