About the position

Trigyn Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a contract opportunity based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and management of network systems, providing expert support and solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and security of the network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT support roles, with a minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in the field. The position requires a deep understanding of various operating systems, particularly MS Windows Server and SUSE Linux/Novell OES, as well as virtualization technologies such as VMWare ESX. The Senior Network Engineer will also need to demonstrate expertise in network protocols and directory services, including NOS and MS Active Directory. Familiarity with Novell or NetIQ products, such as Identity Manager and Access Manager, is highly desired, as is experience with Fibre Channel zoning and provisioning SAN storage solutions, particularly with Hitachi systems. In addition to technical skills, the role demands strong customer service abilities, as the engineer will be expected to manage client expectations effectively. The candidate should be proficient in MS Office Suite tools and possess solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for this position, as the engineer will need to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Senior Network Engineer will also be responsible for planning and overseeing day-to-day activities independently, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-8 years of progressive relevant experience in IT support roles.
  • Novell or Microsoft Certification highly desired.
  • Expert knowledge of MS Windows Server and/or SUSE Linux/Novell OES and/or VMWare ESX, as well as network protocols.
  • Administrator experience with directory services, such as; NOS and/or MS Active Directory.
  • Experience with other Novell or NetIQ products including Identity Manager, Access Manager or Zenworks is highly desired.
  • Experience with Fibre Channel zoning and provisioning SAN storage solutions, especially Hitachi is highly desired.
  • VDI experience with VMWare Horizon View and ThinApp is highly desired.
  • Solid customer focus and ability to manage client expectations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite tools.
  • Ability to plan and oversee day-to-day activities independently.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
