About the position

The Infrastructure Projects team is a growing group of leads and engineers who manage large Buildout and Relocation initiatives alongside smaller Infrastructure Service Improvement projects. A Senior Infrastructure Projects Engineer needs to be able to work independently when needed, while staying in sync with the team, consultants, and clients. Our primary priority is clear communication and expectation-setting. This team is client-facing with regular travel so an ideal candidate thrives on being able to communicate highly technical information to C-Suite or Executive Suite stakeholders at our Clients. The location for this role is in the California Bay Area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and be accountable for the success of small to large-scale IT projects such as office moves and network upgrades
  • Collaborate with the Infrastructure Projects Team Manager and leads to develop and maintain project strategies and process creation in their scope
  • Automate and orchestrate common tasks to drive efficiencies and innovation
  • Work closely with both the team and client-facing consultants to design and implement best practices for project implementation
  • Create meaningful documentation to facilitate project hand-off to Consultants
  • Provide back-end escalations support as needed

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of Windows Server and on-premise server hardware/network infrastructure
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and how to apply them to design and configure networks
  • Working knowledge of EntraID, Office365, Google Workspace, and cloud-based storage (Egnyte, Box, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Experience with new office construction, including working with architects and general contractors and subcontractors
  • Exceptional planning and organizational ability
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies
  • Ability to teach and mentor others
  • Research products and new technologies to improve project lifecycle
  • The physical strength and agility to rack networking, compute, and storage hardware
  • The ability to wear personal protective equipment correctly for up to a full working day when on an active job site
  • The ability to move safely in confined spaces (networking closets, for example)
  • Authorization to work in the USA for any employer

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) fundamentals (SSO, SAML, OAuth, etc.)
  • Experience with AV design for meeting and conference rooms
  • Experience interacting with and using REST APIs
