About the position

As a Senior Network Security Computer Systems Engineer at ManTech International, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement. This position is integral to a diverse team dedicated to providing top-notch security solutions. You will be part of a 24/7/365 service center, with the flexibility to choose from three different shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems, and you will be expected to perform at the highest technical level, providing both internal and external consulting services. In this role, you will work independently on advanced systems and software analysis projects, staying current with the latest operating systems, software analysis, and technological developments. You will be responsible for recommending future directions or projects to management, ensuring that our security measures are not only effective but also forward-thinking. Additionally, you will develop and provide training to junior Network Security Computer Systems Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Your responsibilities will include implementing DISA STIGs and securing AWS-based firewalls, proxies, and Cisco and Fortigate firewalls. You will utilize various security tools such as Tenable, BigFix, SCCM, Cisco ISE, Prime, and DNA, along with FISMA findings, to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Conducting audits to identify security gaps and recommending solutions will be a key part of your role, as will contributing to security incident management and response. You will also be tasked with securing site-to-site VPNs, ensuring that our network remains robust and secure against potential threats.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as the highest-level technical expert, providing both internal and external consulting services.
  • Work independently on advanced systems/software analysis projects.
  • Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments/applications.
  • Recommend future direction or projects to management.
  • Develop and provide training to junior Network Security Computer Systems Engineers.
  • Implement DISA STIGs and secure AWS-based firewalls, proxies, and Cisco and Fortigate firewalls.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with STIGs, firewalls, proxies, Cisco network devices, vulnerability scanning tools, and FISMA requirements and findings.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting security audits.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to security incident response.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with ServiceNow.
  • Demonstrated experience guiding and training junior technical staff.
