About the position

The Senior Network Security Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing network security solutions, particularly using Palo Alto firewalls and F5 Reverse Proxy technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of network security architecture and the ability to gather requirements and translate them into effective security measures. The role is based in Houston, TX, with a requirement to work in the office one day a week.

Responsibilities

• Gather network security requirements
• Architect and design Network Security solutions
• Architect and design Palo Alto firewalls and VPN
• Configure/implement/upgrade Palo Alto firewalls and VPN
• Configure Palo Alto firewall policies
• Optimize firewall rules
• Configure dynamic protocols, to include RIP, OSPF, and BGP
• Configure F5 Reverse Proxy (ASM)
• Develop iRules and apply rules within the F5 appliances

Requirements

• Must have 9+ years of experience configuring Palo Alto firewalls
• Must have experience configuring F5 Reverse Proxy
• Must have experience gathering security requirements and designing network security
• Must have experience defining and configuring firewall policies
• Must have experience optimizing firewall rules
• Must have experience configuring Palo Alto VPN
• Must have experience configuring dynamic protocols RIP, OSPF, and BGP
• Must have excellent understanding of security architecture and integration
