About the position

As a Senior Network Security Engineer at Voya, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security and integrity of our network systems. This position involves providing engineering-level oversight and level 3 support for our current network security environment, which includes Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), email filtering, web filtering, Network Access Control (NAC), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and Multifactor Authentication (MFA). You will be responsible for overseeing the frontline operations support team and assisting in responses to internal and external compliance audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments. Your expertise will guide recommendations regarding the direction of systems and applications to secure access, data, and assets effectively. In this role, you will monitor current and proposed laws, regulations, industry standards, and ethical requirements related to information security and privacy. You will conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards relevant to the information security arena, particularly concerning VPN and MFA. Collaborating with IT Security product vendors and service providers, you will evaluate potential security offerings, including product evaluations, pilots, and proof of concept installations. You will leverage a wide range of security technologies, including logical access controls, identity and access management, LDAP, security incident response, privileged access management, database and system monitoring, end-user password management, and single sign-on systems, as well as network device integration. This is a 100% telecommuting position, and we welcome applicants residing in the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering level oversight and level 3 support of the current network security environment including Firewall, IDS/IPS, email filtering, web filtering, NAC, VPN, and MFA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience as a Network Security Engineer/Specialist, or related position, in a large production IT environment administering and supporting multiple medium to small size applications.
  • Experience in architecture, design, support, maintenance, and expansion of an enterprise network security implementation in a highly resilient configuration.
  • Proficiency with Cisco ASA, PaloAlto, and PulseSecure VPN.
  • Experience in large application support and change management.
  • Experience in the rollout of new technologies and migrations, specifically Firewall migrations and customer support documentation.
