About the position

The Senior Network Security Engineer at Rocket Lab is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network security infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the security of network systems across various sites, including Long Beach, Denver, and Baltimore, and involves deploying advanced security measures and responding to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain 802.1X authentication across the network infrastructure.
• Implement and manage NIST 800-53 network security controls to ensure high-level security.
• Provide support for Darktrace systems and improve network security posture.
• Conduct network security threat hunting activities to identify potential threats.
• Lead incident response efforts, including investigation and remediation of security incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of network security experience and a bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience (9+ years total experience).
• Experience in network security authentication implementation and management.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and encryption methods.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Darktrace systems.
• Familiarity with various network security tools and technologies.
